What to do if a Hedgehog needs help

If you find a hedgehog out in the day please observe the hedgehog's behaviour, pick it up, contain it in a high sided box and bring it indoors preferably somewhere warm.

Then contact us on our phone numbers below as this is the quickest way to get help.

We help sick, injured and orphan hedgehogs. We are a non-profit small rescue in the Highcliffe and surrounding areas helped by kind donations of caring people.

Contact us

New Milton Hedgehog Rescue was founded in 2010 and is a small home based, self-funded, not for profit charity dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs back into the wild.

We cover an area from Lymington to the east, Highcliffe area, north to Ringwood, Christchurch, along the coast to Bournemouth and inland to Ferndown.

We all love seeing hedgehogs snuffling around our garden. Eating some of the garden pests, hedgehogs really are our friends.

And yet housing developments, destruction of habitat and human activities mean that hedgehogs are in trouble. Around 30% have been lost in the last 20 years. There were around 30 million hogs in the 1950s but now only around 1 million remain today.

Help us help those hedgehogs remaining.
